The
Challenge
Zeus in Oslo came to us as a Scandinavian-inspired underwear brand based in London, created by Marianne, who grew up in Norway.
The brief was playful, feminine and very specific: cute, unpadded sheer underwear with self-designed embroidered stamp-style patches.
The collection included sheer bras and thongs featuring motifs such as lightning bolts, hearts, cherries, strawberries and flowers. Each bra cup needed its own embroidered stamp detail, with matching patch placement on the thong.
Simple in concept.
Less simple when you factor in sheer fabrics, intimate fit, cup sizing, grading, patch placement and the small matter of making everything look premium rather than homemade in the wrong way.
The sizing covered Small to XL, with bra cups from A to DD across 32, 34 and 36 back sizes, so the development needed proper fit work and grading to make sure the pieces worked beyond the base size.
The
Solution
We supported Zeus in Oslo through the full development and fitting process.
The base size was developed around Marianne, with fittings carried out directly with the client so we could refine the shape, proportions and fit of the underwear before moving into graded sizes.
Once the graded size set was ready, fittings were carried out on Marianne’s friends before approval to move into production. This gave the project more realistic feedback across different body shapes and helped check how the garments performed outside the base size.
Wearer trials were also carried out, including testing how the embroidered patches performed on the bra and thong samples.
The first production batch used heat-applied patches, but during testing and review, the corners lifted and the finish did not feel premium enough for the brand.
So we reworked the method.
For the second batch, Marianne wanted the patches stitched on instead. We tested this with the factory before producing the second run, improving the finish, durability and overall quality of the product.
Zeus in Oslo then went on to place a repeat order for Collection 2 using the stitched-on patch method.
Tiny detail? Not really.
In lingerie and intimates, tiny details are usually the whole problem.

Because lingerie development is rarely as simple as making something pretty and hoping it fits.
This project needed intimate apparel fit work, graded size checks, wearer trials, embellishment testing and production refinement to make sure the final pieces felt playful, premium and wearable.
We helped Zeus in Oslo turn a distinctive creative concept into a developed underwear collection, then improved the production method for the repeat order when testing showed the original patch application was not quite right.
Cute sheer underwear? Yes.
Patches lifting at the corners? Absolutely not on our watch.
